Each year MDHA travels to Jefferson City to talk with our legislators. Our Legislative Council encourages all Missouri Dental Hygienists and students to attend Lobby Day 2025 on Wednesday, February 19th.
We talk to our legislators about what our profession does and current legislative initiatives we are interested in. Talking with legislators is important to make laws in our state that affect our profession as well as Missouri citizens.

Receive folders and assignments -
8:30 AM - Welcome/Orientation Program at the Rotunda
Greetings and directions
Introduction of lobbyists -
9:20 AM - Legislative Visits commence at the Capitol, proceeding to the first location

10:00 AM - Possible meeting in the House Gallery for introductions

10:30 AM - Check-out begins on the third floor
Meetings may continue until 3:00 PM, depending on scheduled appointments

Inform legislators about the role of dental hygienists, our professional responsibilities, and the educational requirements necessary to qualify as dental hygienists.
Dental Hygiene Advocacy CEU
It is imperative for us to acquire the skills necessary to advocate for our profession and our future in dental hygiene. Therefore, the MDHA Legislative Council will host a Zoom webinar on Tuesday, February 4th, at 7:00 PM. This session will provide updates on our legislative efforts, advocacy training, and a celebration of our success in obtaining local anesthesia under general supervision. Participants will earn two (2) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for attending the webinar. If you are unable to participate live a recording will be sent to you.
